Shanghai's economy soared 12.6 percent in the first half of the year, and the gross domestic product rose to 478.2 billion RMB(about 47.82 billion Euro) in the first six months, city officials said yesterday Wednesday 19 July 2006, one day after China reported a 10.9 percent rise for the same period.
